BerryDunn named a top firm for equity leadership by the MOVE Project

10.20.21

Women thrive at seventh-fastest growing CPA firm in the United States.

BerryDunn was named to the MOVE Project’s 2021 Best CPA Firms for Equity Leadership list.

The Best CPA Firms for Equity Leadership list is based on Accounting and Financial Women’s Alliance’s MOVE Project survey results and recognizes firms that, through any combination of culture, programs, initiatives, and growth, have filled at least 30% of their partner and principal positions with women. Thirty percent is the widely recognized “tipping point” for members of any identity group to have individual impact. At BerryDunn, 42% of the firm’s partners and principals are women, including CEO Sarah Belliveau.

In addition to the Equity Leadership list recognizing firms that have reached the tipping point, the MOVE Project as a whole investigates and validates selected firms that meet the following benchmarks for career success and advancement:

  • Money: Fair pay practices
  • Opportunity: Advancement and leadership development
  • Vital supports: Work-life programs that remove barriers
  • Entrepreneurship: Operating experience for managing or business

MOVE’s rigorous survey and interview process evaluated and validated BerryDunn’s robust equity efforts, including BerryDunn’s learning and development program, well-being and mentor programs, unlimited “responsible paid-time-off" policy, recruiting practices, and DEI Council.

“I’m determined to leverage and expand upon the firm’s successes in achieving gender equity, so that we can continue to recruit and retain an outstanding team of racially and culturally diverse team members,” said Sarah Belliveau, CEO of BerryDunn. “We’re very proud of the firm we’ve become, and yet it feels like we’ve only just begun.”
