Though we are nearing the end of this pandemic, we're not out of the woods yet, which means students may still have to quarantine at some point before the school year ends. So how do you do stay on top of schoolwork while staying home/quarantining?

Below, I offer some ideas and a video to help, but I'd love to hear from you if you have ideas! Comment on this blog or email me at sjohnson@tampaprep.org to share some of your best tips with me!

1. GET ORGANIZED
If you must quarantine, you'll be required to stay home for another 10 - 14 days of remote learning. (I know it stinks, but you've done this before, you can do it again! It's not forever, it's just for now!) Stay organized by putting your class schedule and your teacher's Zoom links where they are easily accessible.

2. GET UP AND GET ACTIVE ON ZOOM
Be ready to go when you sign in to each of your classes. Have your iPad, notes, homework, pencil, calculator, or anything else you need within reach. Try to contribute in class and speak up! Check your weekly planner to preview work for the week (and be sure you keep it updated!).

3. ASK FOR HELP IF YOU NEED IT!
Do not hesitate to ask your teacher, your parents, your advisor, your coach, or--for Tampa Prep students--one of your academic advisors (Mrs. Johnson, Ms. Greseth, Ms. Cole) for assistance. These are the folks who live to help you, but they can only do so if they know you need help. So be your own advocate and don't be afraid to reach out!

4. GIVE YOUR TEACHERS, YOUR PEERS, AND MOST OF ALL YOURSELF, SOME GRACE.
Everyone needs a little grace, kindness, and forgiveness this year. It's been quite a school year for everybody and #pandemiclife is just not over yet. Remember that the entire country (world, really) is in the same boat right now!  Thanks for doing your part to keep each other safe. We are Tampa Prep!
